Why am I unable to unsubscribe from cloud resources?

If you cannot unsubscribe from a resource in the Alibaba Cloud Management Console or on the Unsubscriptions page, you can refer to the following causes for troubleshooting:

  • The cloud service of the resource does not support unsubscriptions.

  • The cloud resource is billed based on the pay-as-you-go method. Pay-as-you-go resources do not support refunds. You can stop and release pay-as-you-go resources after you back up the required data.

  • The resource is purchased in a promotion that does not support refunds.

  • The refundable amount of the resource is zero.

  • The cloud resource is associated with paid images in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

  • Your unsubscription quota for Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances is exhausted

  • The settlement currency that is used in your purchase order is different from the current settlement currency of your account.

  • Your instance has unpaid orders.

  • Your instance has security risks.

Can I call an API operation to unsubscribe from subscription cloud resources?

The resource cannot be unsubscribed from by calling an API operation. For information about how to unsubscribe from resources, see Unsubscription methods.

Why is my refundable amount zero?

In most cases, the refundable amount is zero due to the following reasons:

  • Your order is paid by using a voucher.

  • The resource is partially unsubscribed. In this case, the refundable amount is the actual payment amount of the order minus the consumed amount. If the consumed amount at the time of unsubscription is equal to or greater than the actual payment amount, the refundable amount is zero. For more information, see Unsubscription rules

  • If the account that you use to purchase the resource becomes a member of another Alibaba Cloud account after the purchase and you attempt to unsubscribe from the resource, the refundable amount is zero. When your account is disassociated from the main financial account, the cloud resources are returned to your account, but the refundable amount of cloud resources is zero. As a result, the remaining values are not calculated for the resources during configuration changes, downgrades, or refunds, and your refundable amount becomes zero

To which account is the amount refunded?

  1. View the details of refund destinations.

  2. Perform the following steps:

    1. Go to the Orders page after logon.

    2. Find the refund order that you want to query and click View Details to check the account to which the amount is refunded and the amount of the refund.

When can I receive the refund?

If you successfully unsubscribe from a resource, you can receive the refund in 30 business days. If you do not receive the refund in 30 business days, submit a ticket.

How do I cancel unsubscription?

  1. After you successfully unsubscribe from a resource, you cannot cancel the unsubscription. To prevent accidental operations, you must double-check resource information before unsubscription.

  2. If you accidentally unsubscribe from a resource, you must immediately submit a ticket to check whether the data in the resource can be retrieved. Data retrieval support varies based on the cloud service of the resource.
