User Center:FAQ about unsubscribing from cloud resources on the international site

Why am I unable to unsubscribe from cloud resources on the international site?

Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console and choose Expenses > User Center in the top navigation bar. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Order Management > Refund. If you cannot request a refund for your Alibaba Cloud resources in the console, the issue may be caused by the following reasons:

  • The cloud service does not support unsubscription.

  • The cloud resources are billed based on the pay-as-you-go method. Pay-as-you-go resources do not support refunds. You can shut down and release pay-as-you-go resources after you back up the data that you require.

  • Your resources are purchased in promotions that do not support refunds.

  • Your refundable amount is 0.

  • Your cloud resources are associated with paid images in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

  • Your unsubscription quota for Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances is exhausted

  • The settlement currency that is used in your purchase order is different from the current settlement currency of your account.

  • Your instance has unpaid orders.

  • Your instance has security risks.

Can I call an API operation to unsubscribe from subscription cloud resources?

No, you cannot unsubscribe from subscription cloud resources by calling an API operation.

Why is my refundable amount 0?

In most cases, the refundable amount is 0 because of the following reasons:

  • The refundable amount is calculated based on the following formula for non-full refunds: Refundable amount = Paid amount - Fees for consumed resources, The calculated refundable amount 0.

  • After you purchase the resources, your account is associated with a main financial account as a managed sub-account. When your account is disassociated from the main financial account, the cloud resources are returned to your account, but the refundable amount of cloud resources is 0. As a result, the remaining values are not calculated for the resources during configuration changes, downgrades, or refunds, and your refundable amount becomes 0.

  • Your resources are transferred to another account, and the refundable amount is 0.

To which account is the amount refunded?

  • Perform the following steps:

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console and choose Expenses > User Center in the top navigation bar. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Order Management > Orders.

  1. Find the refund order that you want to query and click View Details to check the Refund status.

When can I receive the refund?

If you successfully unsubscribe from a cloud resource, you can receive the refund in 30 business days. If you do not receive the refund in 30 business days, submit a ticket.
