Certificate Management Service:Configure notifications for PCA

Last Updated:Jun 20, 2024

You can use the notification feature to configure notifications for the Private Certificate Authority (PCA) feature. You can configure notifications to be sent before private certificates expire or when the private certificate quota is about to be exhausted. This prevents your business from being affected when your PCA feature expires or the private certificate quota is insufficient.

Prerequisites

A private CA is created. For more information, see Overview.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Certificate and Domain Application Services > Notification.

  3. On the PCA Service tab, find the root certificate or intermediate certificate for which you want to configure notifications, and click Edit in the Actions column.

  4. In the Edit Message Reminder panel, turn on Notification Switch, configure the parameters, and then click OK.

  5. Parameter

    Description

    Alert Contact

Select a certificate notification contact from the drop-down list. If you have not created contacts, you can click Create Contact to create one. Certificate Management Service saves the created contact for you to use next time. For more information about how to create a contact, see Manage contacts.

You can specify up to 10 contacts.

    Notification Method

Select the method to receive notifications. Valid values: Email Address, Internal Message, and DingTalk/WeCom/Lark.

To use the DingTalk, WeCom, or Lark method, specify a webhook URL for DingTalk, WeCom, or Lark when you create a contact on the Information Management page. For more information, see Manage contacts.

    Notification Time

Select the time range during which you want to receive notifications. Valid values:

    • All Day: Notifications are sent based on the time when a private certificate is purchased. For example, if you purchase a private certificate at 05:00, notifications are sent starting 05:00.

    • 9:00-20:00: Notifications are sent between 09:00 and 20:00. For example, if you purchase a private certificate at 05:00, notifications are sent starting 09:00.

    Expiration Deadline Notification

Select a time period during which you want to receive notifications before a private certificate expires. You can select a value that ranges from 1 day before expiration to 90 days before expiration. For example, if you select 1 Days Before Expiration, notifications are sent once a day on the previous day before a private certificate expires.

    Certificate Margin Reminder

Select the threshold for the remaining private certificate quota based on which you want to receive notifications. You can select a value that ranges from 1% to 99%. For example, if you select 10%, notifications are sent once a day when 10% of the purchased private certificate quota remains.
