Simple Log Service and Smart Access Gateway (SAG) jointly launch the flow log feature. You can use the feature to capture the information about inbound and outbound network traffic of SAG instances. You can check traffic status and troubleshoot errors based on flow logs. This topic describes the assets, billing, and limits of the flow log feature.
Introduction
The flow log feature captures traffic information, records the traffic information as logs, and then delivers the logs to Simple Log Service. Each flow log records a five-tuple of network traffic that is captured within a specific time window. During the time window, the flow log feature aggregates traffic data and delivers the traffic data as logs to Simple Log Service.
Assets
Custom project and custom Logstore
ImportantDo not delete the related Simple Log Service project and Logstore. Otherwise, logs cannot be delivered to Simple Log Service.
When you create a custom Logstore, note that the billable items vary depending on the billing mode of the Logstore. For more information, see Billable items.
Dedicated dashboards
None.
Billing
You are not charged for the flow log feature of SAG.
Usage fees of Simple Log Service resources
If the billing mode of the related Logstore is pay-by-feature, you are charged based on the storage usage, read traffic, number of requests, data transformation, and data shipping after logs are delivered to Simple Log Service. For more information, see Billable items of pay-by-feature.
If the billing mode of the related Logstore is pay-by-ingested-data, you are charged for the storage usage and read traffic over the Internet after logs are delivered to Simple Log Service. For more information, see Billable items of pay-by-ingested-data.
Limits
The flow log feature is supported by only SAG-1000 devices that are upgraded to version 1.7.0 or later.
If the version of your SAG-1000 device is earlier than 1.7.0, upgrade the SAG-1000 device first. For more information, see Update the version of an SAG device.
