Simple Log Service and Hybrid Cloud Monitoring jointly launch the log dump feature to push metrics from a namespace to Simple Log Service. After metrics are dumped to Simple Log Service, you can query, visualize, analyze, ship, and consume the metrics in real time. This topic describes the assets, billing, and limits of the log dump feature.
Assets
Dedicated project and dedicated Metricstore
The metric data is stored in Simple Log Service within the current Alibaba Cloud account.
When you create a namespace in Hybrid Cloud Monitoring after you activate Simple Log Service, Simple Log Service creates a project and a Metricstore in the Singapore (ap-southeast-1) region by default. The project is named in the format of
cms-hybrid-Alibaba Cloud account ID-Region ID-Random number (consisting of four characters including letters and digits). The Metricstore is named after the namespace. In addition to the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console, you can also access metric data by using the Simple Log Service console or by calling API operations. You can also use the related functions of Simple Log Service to process the metric data.Dedicated dashboard

Billing
You are not charged for the dedicated project, dedicated Metricstore, and data that is written to Simple Log Service. After metrics are dumped from Hybrid Cloud Monitoring to Simple Log Service, you are charged for the read traffic, number of requests, data transformation, and data shipping. The charges are included in your Simple Log Service bills. For more information, see Billable items of pay-by-feature.
Limits
Only Hybrid Cloud Monitoring can write data to the dedicated Metricstore. You can modify the data retention period only in the Hybrid Cloud Monitoring console.
You cannot delete the dedicated Metricstore in the Simple Log Service console or by calling an API operation. You cannot delete the dedicated project in the Simple Log Service console. For more information, see Data storage solutions for Hybrid Cloud Monitoring.
