Simple Log Service:Why do I have overdue payments even if I purchase a resource plan?

Last Updated:Aug 02, 2024

This topic describes the causes of overdue payments after a resource plan is purchased.

Note

When you use Simple Log Service, you can view the billing details in the Expenses and Costs console. For more information, see Query bills.

After you purchase a resource plan, overdue payments may occur due to the following reasons:

  • Your actual resource usage exceeds the quota of the resource plan.

For example, you have purchased a 1-year subscription resource plan with 100 CUs per month. If your monthly resource usage exceeds 100 CUs, the excess CUs are separately charged based on the pay-as-you-go billing method. As a result, overdue payments occur. You can purchase and use multiple resource plans to avoid this issue.

  • The bill is delayed.

After a resource plan takes effect, the fees for the Simple Log Service resources that are used are automatically offset from the resource plan. A resource plan immediately takes effect after you purchase it. However, a bill of Simple Log Service is generated the next day. For example, your resource plan takes effect at 10:00 on December 29, 2021, and you receive an overdue bill at 04:00 on December 30, 2021. The overdue payments may have occurred before 10:00 on December 29, 2021. We recommend that you check the point in time at which the overdue payments occur after you receive an overdue bill.

  • Overdue payments are caused by other cloud services.

A resource plan of Simple Log Service can be used to offset only the fees of all Simple Log Service billable items. If you use other cloud services, overdue payments may occur.
