Gateway Load Balancer (GWLB) uses IP listeners to check for packets across all ports and forwards the traffic to backend server groups via the Geneve protocol. This topic describes the protocols and ports supported by GWLB listeners.
Supported protocols and ports
A protocol or port is not required when creating an IP listener. A GWLB instance supports only one listener.
Listener status
The following table describes different states of a listener and whether the specified operations are supported.
Listener status | Status description | Listener locked or not | Deletion allowed | Configuration update allowed |
Running | The instance is running as expected. | N/A | Yes | Yes |
Creating | The instance is being created. | N/A | No | No |
Configuring | The instance is being configured. | N/A | No | |
Deleting | The instance is being deleted. | N/A | No |
