A product portfolio consists of one or more products. You can manage products by using product portfolios. You can configure product launch constraints and permissions for end users in product portfolios. Then, the end users can launch products and manage the product instances.

Scenarios

Product portfolios allow the administrator to configure products for different scenarios in a convenient manner.

The administrator can create an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) product, ApsaraDB RDS product, and Object Storage Service (OSS) product. Then, the administrator can create multiple product portfolios for different teams or development environments, and add different products to the product portfolios. For example, the administrator can add only the ECS product to the product portfolio for the test team, and add the ECS product, ApsaraDB RDS product, and OSS product to the product portfolio for the O&M team.

The administrator can configure permissions and constraints for the products in different product portfolios. The administrator can also specify the accounts with which a product portfolio can be shared. This way, compliance requirements are met, and the administrator can efficiently manage multiple product portfolios at a time.

Use a product portfolio

To use a product portfolio, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a product portfolio.
  2. Add a product to the product portfolio.
  3. Grant an end user the permissions to access the product.
  4. Grant the end user the permissions to launch the product.
