ApsaraDB for SelectDB:Billable items and pricing

Last Updated:Dec 26, 2025

This topic describes the billable items of ApsaraDB for SelectDB and their pricing.

Billable items

ApsaraDB for SelectDB includes the following billable items.

Billable item

Billing method

Billing rule

Compute resources

  • Subscription

  • Pay-as-you-go

Compute resource fee = Unit price of compute resources × Number of CCUs × Subscription duration or usage duration.

Note

1 CCU = 1 vCPU and 4 GB of memory. The specification of compute resources must be an integer multiple of 1 vCPU and 4 GB of memory.

Cache

  • Subscription

  • Pay-as-you-go

Cache fee = Unit price of cache × Cache size × Subscription duration or usage duration.

Storage resources

Pay-as-you-go

Storage resource fee = Unit price of storage resources × Storage size × Usage duration.

Note

If you use an instance for a long time, purchase a storage plan to save costs. The plan can be used to offset the pay-as-you-go usage of storage resources.

Note

If you request a public endpoint and use it to connect to an ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance, Internet traffic is generated. Currently, both inbound and outbound Internet traffic are free of charge when you connect to an ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance using a public endpoint. For more information about this feature, see Request and release a public endpoint.

Compute resources

A Compute Capacity Unit (CCU) is used to execute requests and return responses. The performance of an instance is proportional to its compute resource specification. One CCU is equivalent to 1 vCPU and 4 GB of memory.

Cache

The cache stores hot data to accelerate read and write operations. The available cache size range depends on the selected compute resource specification.

Storage resources

Storage resources are used to store full data. By default, storage resources are pay-as-you-go, and you are billed hourly for your actual storage usage. If you can estimate your instance storage usage, you can purchase a storage plan to offset your pay-as-you-go bills. A storage plan can reduce your storage costs by approximately 45%. For more information about storage plans, see Storage plans.

Billing examples

  • Subscription

Assume that you purchase a subscription instance in the Singapore region with 4 vCPUs and 16 GB of memory (4 CCUs) and 200 GB of cache. The subscription duration is one month. During this month, assume the instance stores an average of 500 GB of data. The total fee for the instance for one month is USD 192.00. The cost breakdown is as follows:

    • Compute resource fee: USD 36.980/CCU/month × 4 CCUs × 1 month = USD 147.92.

    • Cache fee: USD 0.152/GB/month × 200 GB × 1 month = USD 30.40.

    • Storage resource fee: USD 0.000038/GB/hour × 500 GB × 30 days × 24 hours = USD 13.68.

  • Pay-as-you-go

Assume that you purchase a pay-as-you-go instance in the Singapore region with 4 vCPUs and 16 GB of memory (4 CCUs) and 200 GB of cache. You use the instance for one hour. During this hour, assume the instance stores an average of 500 GB of data. The total fee for the instance for one hour is USD 0.347. The cost breakdown is as follows:

    • Compute resource fee: USD 0.069170/CCU/hour × 4 CCUs × 1 hour = USD 0.277.

    • Cache fee: USD 0.000253/GB/hour × 200 GB × 1 hour = USD 0.051.

    • Storage resource fee: USD 0.000038/GB/hour × 500 GB × 1 hour = USD 0.019.
