Tair ESSD-based instances are officially renamed as ESSD/SSD-based instances. The engine version of the instances is upgraded to ensure compatibility with Redis 6.0. The instances remain fully compatible with Redis 4.0.

In addition to Enterprise SSDs (ESSDs), the service now includes support for standard SSDs. SSD-based instances support the standard and cluster architectures, and are more cost-effective compared with ESSD-based instances that have the same specifications.

Feature optimization

The bandwidth of a Tair instance or shard can be increased by up to six times the default bandwidth of the instance, but the increase in bandwidth cannot exceed 192 Mbit/s.

For example, if the default bandwidth of an instance is 10 Mbit/s, you can increase the bandwidth by up to 60 Mbit/s.

Cloud disk-based read/write splitting instances are enhanced with features that offer increased customization and flexibility:

  • You can specify 1 to 9 read replicas for each instance. This allows for a maximum of 10 nodes in an instance, including 1 master node and 9 read replicas.

  • You can create a dual-zone instance and flexibly configure the number of nodes in each zone. A separate endpoint is provided for each zone. Each endpoint supports both read and write operations. Read and write requests are automatically routed to the nearest zone.
