This topic provides an overview of the features that are provided by ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server. In the following tables, ticks (️️️️️️️️✔️) indicate that a feature is supported, and crosses (❌) indicate that a feature is not supported.

Note

ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server supports multiple versions and editions of SQL Server, such as SQL Server 2022, SQL Server 2019, SQL Server EE, SQL Server SE, and SQL Server Web. Each SQL Server edition provides different capabilities in computing scale, high availability, parallel processing and performance optimization, data security, management and development, and data warehousing. The features of SQL Server versions that are supported by ApsaraDB RDS may be different from the features of Microsoft SQL Server versions. For more information, see Microsoft documentation.
Serverless RDS instances support SQL Server 2016 SE, SQL Server 2017 SE, and SQL Server 2019 SE. For more information, see Overview.
You can create standard RDS instances that run RDS Basic Edition only in regions outside China.
