PrivateLink helps you analyze and troubleshoot network congestion and packet loss in real time by monitoring the bandwidth and packet rates of endpoints and endpoint services. This topic describes the monitored objects and metrics of PrivateLink.
Monitored items
The following figure shows the monitored objects and metrics of PrivateLink.
Monitored objects
The following objects of PrivateLink are monitored: endpoints and endpoint services.
Endpoints are created and managed by service consumers. The metrics of endpoints are mainly intended for service consumers.
Endpoint: The metrics of an endpoint include the collection of metrics for all zones where the endpoint is deployed.
Zone: The metrics of a zone include the collection of metrics for the endpoint elastic network interface (ENI) within the zone.
Endpoint ENI: The metrics of an endpoint ENI include the metrics of the endpoint ENI itself.
NoteEach zone of an endpoint contains an endpoint ENI. Therefore, the metrics of a zone are the same as the metrics of the endpoint ENI in the zone.
Endpoint services are created and managed by service providers. The data about the metrics of endpoint services and the metrics of the connected endpoints can be viewed by service providers. The following section describes these metrics:
Endpoint service: The metrics of an endpoint service include the collection of metrics for all associated endpoint connections.
Service resource: The metrics of a service resource for an endpoint service include the metrics of the service resource itself.
Connected endpoint: The metrics of an endpoint that is connected to an endpoint service include the metrics of the endpoint, the zones, and ENIs of the endpoint.
NoteAn endpoint is created and managed by using the Alibaba Cloud account of the service consumer. The service provider can view the metrics of an endpoint only by using the connected endpoint service.
Metrics
Eight metrics are provided for each monitored object of PrivateLink. These metrics provide data about bandwidth and packet rates.
