PolarDB:Switch the compute billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go

Last Updated:Oct 30, 2024

This topic describes how to switch the compute billing method of a PolarDB cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go.

Prerequisites

  • Your cluster is in the Running state.

  • Your cluster does not have a temporary upgrade task in progress or scheduled configuration change tasks.

  • Make sure that your account balance is sufficient to prevent service downtime due to overdue payments after you switch the compute billing method of your cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go.

Precautions

If your cluster uses the subscription compute and subscription storage billing methods, you cannot switch the compute billing method to pay-as-you-go. You can first switch the storage billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go and then switch the compute billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go. For more information, see Switch storage billing methods

Refunding

After you switch the compute billing method of a cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go, the subscription amount is refunded to your original payment account. Take note that only the actual paid amount is refunded to the original payment channel. Vouchers or coupons that are deemed cannot be refunded.

Impacts

The running of clusters is not affected by a change to the compute billing method.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the PolarDB console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters.

  3. In the upper-left corner, select the region in which the cluster is deployed.

  4. Find the cluster whose compute billing method you want to change and then choose More > Switch to Pay-as-you-go in the Actions column.

  5. In the Switch to Pay-as-you-go dialog box, click Switch to Pay-as-you-go.

  6. On the Switch to Pay-as-you-go page, confirm the cluster information, select the terms of service, and then click Buy Now.

    Note
    • The new billing method takes effect after you pay for the order.

    • If the order remains unpaid or the payment fails, the order is listed as an unpaid order on the Orders page. You cannot purchase a new cluster or switch the billing method until you complete the payment or cancel the order.
