This topic describes why you fail to create inventories and how to troubleshoot the issue.
The number of objects in the bucket exceeds the limit
You can export bucket inventory lists on a daily or weekly basis.
If you want to export inventory lists on a daily basis, make sure that the number of objects in the bucket is less than 10 billion.
If you want to export inventory lists on a weekly basis, make sure that the number of objects in the bucket is less than 50 billion.
Solutions:
If the number of objects in a bucket is greater than or equal to 10 billion, we recommend that you export inventory lists on a weekly basis.
If the number of objects in a bucket is greater than or equal to 50 billion:
Export inventory lists by prefix in several batches.
Submit a ticket to increase the number of inventory lists that can be exported.
The bucket for which you want to configure an inventory and the bucket in which you want to store generated inventory lists are not located in the same region of an Alibaba Cloud account
The bucket for which you want to configure an inventory can be different from the bucket in which you want to store generated inventory lists. However, the two buckets must be located in the same region of an Alibaba Cloud account.
Solution: Select a destination bucket that resides in the same region of an Alibaba Cloud account as the source bucket to store inventory lists.
The RAM role does not have the permissions to export inventory lists
The RAM role used to export inventory lists does not have the required permissions.
Solution: Grant the required permissions to the RAM role. For more information, see Bucket inventory.
