OpenSearch:Increase the number of resources for data updates

Last Updated:Mar 01, 2025

If the amount of incremental data is large and the two free resources for data updates cannot ensure low latency in incremental data synchronization, you can increase the number of resources for data updates based on your business requirements. This topic describes how to increase the number of resources for data updates.

Procedure:

Log on to the OpenSearch console. Go to the details page of the instance that you want to manage and click Table Management in the left-side navigation pane. Click the Pen icon in the Number of Resources for Data Updates column of the required table.

Enter an appropriate number and click Confirm.

Click Change History in the left-side navigation pane. On the Data Source Changes tab, view the finite-state machine (FSM) process of the change. After the process is complete, the change takes effect.

Usage notes:

  • After you change the number of resources for data updates, the FSM process is automatically triggered. You can view the FSM process on the Change History page.

  • During this operation, real-time data synchronization is suspended for a short period of time. After the operation is complete, the incremental data in the suspension period will be automatically synchronized.

  • The increased number of resources for data updates is effective for all new indexes generated by subsequent reindexing.

  • You are charged for data update resources that exceed the free quota. For more information, see the "Data update resource fee" section of the Billing overview of OpenSearch Vector Search Edition topic.
