File Storage NAS:Enable the log analysis feature

Last Updated:Oct 31, 2024

This topic describes how to enable the log analysis feature in the File Storage NAS (NAS) console and use the feature to collect logs to Simple Log Service.

Prerequisites

  • A file system is created and mounted. For more information, see Usage notes.

  • NAS is authorized to assume the AliyunNASLogArchiveRole Resource Access Management (RAM) role to access Simple Log Service.

You can go to the Cloud Resource Access Authorization page and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the authorization. The first time you enable the log analysis feature, you must complete the authorization by using your Alibaba Cloud account.

    Warning

Do not revoke permissions from the AliyunNASLogArchiveRole role or delete the role. Otherwise, logs cannot be sent to Simple Log Service.

Procedure

Important

Before you can use a RAM user to enable the log analysis feature, you must grant the required permissions to the RAM user. For more information, see RAM user authorization.

  1. Log on to the NAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Monitoring Audit > Log Analysis.

  3. On the Log Analysis page, click the General-purpose NAS File System or Extreme NAS tab.

  4. On the Log Management tab, click Create Log Dump.

  5. In the Create Log Dump dialog box, configure the File System Type and File System ID/Name parameters, and then click OK.

What to do next

After Simple Log Service collects NAS access logs, you can query, analyze, download, ship, and transform the logs. You can also configure alert rules for the logs. For more information, see Common operations on logs of Alibaba Cloud services.
