Microservices Engine:Change the protocol and certificate of a domain name

Last Updated:Apr 07, 2024

When an SSL certificate expires, the owner of a domain name changes, or the protocol of a website needs to be changed from HTTP to HTTPS, you must change the certificate and protocol of the domain name in most cases. This ensures the security and compliance of websites. These changes are critical to protecting data, building trust, and complying with the latest cybersecurity standards.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the MSE console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud-native Gateway > Gateways. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. On the Gateways page, click the name of the gateway.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Routes. On the page that appears, click the Domain Names tab.

  5. Click the desired domain name, and select a new protocol or certificate on the domain name details page.

    • Change a protocol: Click the edit icon next to Protocol. In the Change Protocol dialog box, select a new protocol and click OK.

      Note

Cloud-native gateways support the HTTP and HTTPS protocols. If you select HTTPS, you must associate the HTTPS protocol with an SSL certificate. The supported port number varies based on the protocol.

      • HTTP: Port 80 is supported.

      • HTTPS: Port 443 is supported.

    • Replace a certificate: Click Replace Certificate next to Certificate Management. In the Change Default CA Certificate dialog box, select a certificate and click OK.

Verify the result

Return to the Routes page. On the Domain Names tab, check whether the Protocol and Certificate of the domain name are updated.
