Instance deployment

Standalone instances can be deployed only in specific regions and zones. For more information about the supported regions and zones, see Availability in regions and zones.

Engine version

Standalone instances can run only MongoDB 3.4 and 4.0.

Connection management

Encryption features cannot be enabled or disabled for internal network access.

Data backup

Only Snapshot Backup is supported.

Data restoration

• Only data restoration to a new instance by backup point is supported. For more information, see Restore backup data to a new instance by backup point.

• Data restoration by point in time is not supported.

Service availability

High availability features are not supported. These features include primary/secondary switchover, role switching, and instance migration across zones.

Data security

• Only VPC is available. For information about how to create a virtual private cloud (VPC), see Create and manage a VPC.

• Only whitelists are supported. For more information, see Configure a whitelist for an instance.

• Audit Logs, SSL, or TDE is not supported.

Log management

Log management features are not supported. These features include Slow Query Logs, Error Logs, and Running Logs.

CloudDBA

• Only Performance Trends is supported.

• Real-time Performance, Sessions, Storage Analysis, and Slow Query Logs are not supported.

Data migration and synchronization

• The following methods can be used to migrate the data of a standalone instance:

  • Migrate data from a self-managed MongoDB database to an ApsaraDB for MongoDB instance

    • Migrate data from an ECS-hosted self-managed MongoDB database that uses the standalone or replica set architecture to ApsaraDB for MongoDB

    • Migrate data from a self-managed MongoDB database that uses the standalone architecture to ApsaraDB for MongoDB by using DTS

    • Migrate data from a self-managed MongoDB database to a standalone instance by using mongodump and mongorestore

  • Migrate data between ApsaraDB for MongoDB instances

    • Migrate data from a standalone instance to a replica set or sharded cluster instance

    • Migrate data between ApsaraDB for MongoDB instances of different Alibaba Cloud accounts

    • Migrate an instance to another region

• Standalone instances do not support incremental data migration and synchronization.

• Connect to a standalone instance by using the mongo shell

• Connect to a standalone instance by using program code
