This topic describes how to activate Alibaba Cloud Model Studio.
Procedure
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Management Console with your Alibaba Cloud account and go to the Alibaba Cloud Model Studio console.
Perform the following operations:
In the dialog box that appears, read and agree to the Model Management Service Agreement by selecting the check box and click Confirm Activation. Wait until Model Service is activated.
Usage notes
If you want to use Model Service in Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, you must also activate the following services and create an API key that is used to call models: Model Studio Large Model Inference.
You are charged for calling Model Service based on the number of tokens that are consumed. You must also activate the Model Studio Large Model Inference services. After you activate these services, you can call all foundation models in Model Gallery.
The service activation dialog box of Model Service lists billable models. New billable models will be directly updated in your activated services. You do not need to activate the services again.
The billing information about new models or the updated billing information will be announced in the console.
After you activate the Model Studio Large Model Inference services, you will receive text messages, which notify you that the services are activated.

1. Am I able to activate Alibaba Cloud Model Studio as a RAM user?
To activate Alibaba Cloud Model Studio as a Resource Access Management (RAM) user, you must attach the AliyunSFMFullAccess policy to the RAM user. For more information, see Authorize a RAM user to manage services in Model Studio.
2. How do I isolate the business data of different business lines?
You can use your Alibaba Cloud account to grant the permissions on different workspaces to different RAM users. This way, data is isolated and independent among different workspaces. For more information, see Use workspaces.
3. What billing methods does Alibaba Cloud Model Studio support?
Alibaba Cloud Model Studio supports the pay-as-you-go and subscription billing methods.
4. What do I do if a message appears to inform me that the available balance of my account is less than zero when I activate Alibaba Cloud Model Studio?
You must make sure that the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account is at least zero before you can activate Alibaba Cloud Model Studio. Add funds to your account and try again.
5. Will I receive text messages after I activate Alibaba Cloud Model Studio?
Yes, you will receive text messages, which indicate that the Model Studio Large Model Training, Model Studio Large Model Deployment, and Model Studio Large Model Inference services are activated.
