To sell your image product in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace, you must publish it in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace. This topic describes how to publish an image product in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

Step 1: Prepare the Image Content
Notice Alibaba Cloud Marketplace protects the copyright of image products sold in it. You are not allowed to purchase an image product from Alibaba Cloud Marketplace and package it into another image product for sale. You must deploy the image content by yourself.
Log on to the ECS console.
Create an ECS instance. For more information, see Create method overview.
On the ECS instance, deploy the runtime environment or application to be sold as a product.
Note If your image requires a startup script, you only need to deploy the startup script on an ECS instance and then create a custom image on that ECS instance. The created image automatically contains the startup script.
Step 2: Create a Custom Image
You can use various methods to create a custom image. For more information, see Create a custom image from an instance. This topic assumes that you use an ECS instance to create a custom image.
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > Instances.
In the top navigation bar, select a region.
Find the instance for which you want to create a custom image. In the Actions column, choose More > Disk and Image > Create Custom Image.
Enter the image name and description.
Click Create.
Note Use instance identities to create images for commercial software that requires license control. An instance identity is a part of metadata that describes and validates an ECS instance. It enables you to quickly locate a target ECS instance, and provides authentication for such actions as application access control and software activation. All information about an instance identity is generated in real time and dynamically changes with instance information. The signature of an instance identity is encrypted in the PKCS#7 format, ensuring security and reliability. You can customize signatures to prevent fraudulent use of signatures. For more information, see Use instance identities.
Step 3: Publish an Image Product
Log on to theISV Portal of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.
In the left-side navigation pane, selectListing.
Click Create Product.
On the Access Information page, enter the product information in the configuration wizard.
i. Enter access information about the image product and click Next.
Parameter | Description |
Choose Your Product Type | Select Image. |
Product Name | Enter a custom product name to be presented to customers. |
Image Region | Select the region where your custom image resides. The system automatically matches images in the region for you to select one. Note Note If you want to use an image created by another account, click click here and enter the AccessKey ID and AccessKey secret of the account. For more information about the AccessKey ID and AccessKey secret, see User Management. |
Version | Set the version of your image product, for example, V1.0 or V1.1.Note You can use the same product name to publish image products in different versions. |
Version Description | Enter the version information, such as features available in the version. |
Available in | Select regions where the image product is available.Note A customer can find the image product in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace only when purchasing an ECS instance in a region where the image product is available. For example, if you set Available in to China (Hangzhou) for the image product, a customer can find the image product only when purchasing an ECS instance in China (Hangzhou). |
Configuration Constraint | Optional. Specify the minimum configuration requirements for ECS instances. A customer can use the image product only on an ECS instance that meets the minimum configuration requirements. If you do not set the Configuration Constraint parameter, the image product can be used on all ECS instances by default. |
Application Console | Optional. Specify whether to allow customers to access your application through the Alibaba Cloud console.If you set this parameter to Yes, enter the endpoint of your application. |
ii. Enter basic information about the image product and click Next.
Parameter | Description |
Product Logo | Upload product images to show on the product list page and product details page. The recommended image size is 200*150 pixels. |
Short Description | Enter the short description of your product. This description appears on the product list page in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace. We recommend that you enter no more than 200 characters. |
Product Highlights | Enter the detailed description of your product. This description appears on the top of the product details page. We recommend that you describe your product as detailed as possible. |
Product Description | Describe your product in detail with rich text. If you want to use an image in the product description, drag the image to the rich text editing box. |
Product Certifications | Optional. Upload certificates of your product, such as the intellectual property certificate, patent certificate, and special certificates, to increase customers’ trust in your product. |
User Guide | Upload the help document of your product. The operational staff of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace will check the user guide when reviewing your product. The user guide must be in PDF format and cannot exceed 10 MB. |
Refund Policy | Enter the refund terms and contact information. |
Support Offered | Enter after-sales support information, such as the support that you can provide and the time period during which the support is available. |
iii. Enter business information about the image product and click Next.
Parameter | Description |
Basic OS | The system automatically identifies the operating system of the custom image you selected. |
Product Category | Select the category of the image product.Note You can only select a category in the marketplace with which you have registered. |
SEO for Your Product | Specify search keywords and description for the image product. This increases the visibility of the image product in search results of third-party search engines such as Baidu. |
iv. Enter sales information about the image product and click Next.

Displayed on Marketplace | Specify whether the image product is visible in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.If you set this parameter to No, customers cannot find the image product in the product list or search results after you publish the product. However, you can visit the details page of the image product by accessing the page URL. Generally, you can set this parameter to No when you are testing the image product before publishing it. |
v. Enter the user and product agreements and click Next.

EULA | Enter an End User License Agreement (EULA). This is a legal agreement between you and your customers. Customers must agree to this agreement before purchasing the product. You can use the EULA template provided by Alibaba Cloud Marketplace and modify it as required. You can also import a custom EULA template. |
Step 4: Review an Image Product
After you submit an image product, the system automatically copies the image.
The security team of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace reviews the security of the image product. If the image product is insecure, the security team of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace rejects the product. You must modify the product and submit it for security review again.
After approving the image product, the security team of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace synchronizes the image product to the regions you selected for Available in. If you want the image product to be available in more regions after it is published, contact the operational staff of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.
The operational staff of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace review the category you selected for the image product. If the operational staff of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace approve the category, the image product is published. If the operational staff of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace reject the category, you must modify the category and submit the image product for category review again.
Step 5: Recieve the Product Certificate
Once the product is successfully published, you will receive the product certificate in your mailbox.
