Pay-as-you-go instance
  • If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, all the pay-as-you-go instances that belong to the account become overdue.
  • However, if the amount of your overdue payment does not exceed the overdraft threshold of your Alibaba Cloud account, the instances are not locked. During this period, you receive daily text message reminders. If you have an overdue payment, you cannot release your Lindorm instance before you add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account.
Note Alibaba Cloud provides an extended suspension quota. If the overdue payment for pay-as-you-go resources does not exceed the quota, your services are not suspended. Resources used in the extended period are billed as usual. The extended suspension quota is not the maximum outstanding amount due that is allowed. The extended suspension quota is automatically calculated and updated on a monthly basis based on the consumption records of your Alibaba Cloud account.
  • If the overdraft threshold is exceeded, Alibaba Cloud suspends your services and stops billing.
Add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account in the Billing Management console. Each pay-as-you-go instance is unlocked.
Note If you want to use a pay-as-you-go instance for a long period of time, you can change the billing method of the instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription and select a subscription duration based on your business requirements. This can help you reduce costs. For more information, see Change the billing method from pay-as-you-go to subscription.
If you do not complete your overdue payments 15 days after your instance is locked, the computing and storage resources of the instance are released, and data stored on the instance is permanently deleted. Data on the released instance is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
