Lindorm:Expiration and overdue payments

Lindorm instance expiration or overdue payments affect normal operation of your Lindorm instance. To continue using the instance, renew it or enable auto-renewal.

Subscription instances

After an instance expires, the instance is immediately disabled and data is retained for 15 days.

Manually renew the instance. For more information, see Manually renew a subscription instance.

Warning

To prevent data loss, we recommend that you enable auto-renewal for the instance. For more information, see Enable auto-renewal.

After the instance is disabled for 15 days, its computing and storage resources are released, and data is deleted and cannot be recovered.

Data cannot be recovered.

Pay-as-you-go instances

If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, all pay-as-you-go instances under that account enter an overdue state and are immediately disabled.

Recharge your Alibaba Cloud account by clicking or Recharge. After you settle the overdue payment, the instance resumes normal operation immediately.

Note

If you want to use a pay-as-you-go instance for a long period of time, you can change the billing method of the instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription and select a subscription duration as needed. This can help you reduce costs. For more information, see Change the billing method of an instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription.

After the instance is disabled for 15 days, its computing and storage resources are released, and data is deleted and cannot be recovered.

Why is the instance locked?

  • Subscription instances: The instance is disabled after expiration. The instance status shows as Locked.

  • Pay-as-you-go instances: The Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, and the instance is immediately disabled. The instance status shows as Locked.

How do I release a locked instance?

  • Subscription instances: After an instance is locked, you cannot convert its billing method to pay-as-you-go or unsubscribe. If you no longer use it, wait 15 days for the instance to be automatically released.

  • Pay-as-you-go instances: After an instance is locked, you cannot manually release it. After the instance is disabled for 15 days, its computing and storage resources are automatically released.

Does a locked instance incur charges?

An instance in the Locked state is disabled and does not incur charges.
