Alibaba Cloud provides IoT Device ID. An IoT device ID (ID²) is a trusted identifier for an IoT Platform device. Each ID² is tamper-resistant and non-falsifiable.
Background information
IoT Device ID provides bidirectional identity verification and link encryption between devices and IoT Platform.
The following registration methods are used for devices that are verified by using ID²s:
You need to only create a product in the IoT Platform console. You do not need to create a device for the product. After a device is verified by using an ID², IoT Platform automatically registers the device based on the name that is submitted by the device.
After you create a product in the IoT Platform console, enable the ID² whitelist verification feature and then register the device. If you connect an unregistered device to IoT Platform, the device verification fails.
Limits
Only Enterprise Edition instances in the Japan (Tokyo) region support ID²-based verification.
If you want to use ID²-based verification, make sure IoT Device ID is activated.
After you specify an authentication mode for a device, you cannot change the mode.
Verify devices by using ID²
Log on to the IoT Platform console. In the top navigation bar, select a region from the drop-down list.
On the Overview tab, click All environment. On the All environment tab, find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID or instance name.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Create a product. and click Create Product. On the Create Product page, set the Authentication Mode parameter of the product to ID², configure other parameters, and then click OK. For more information, see
NoteAfter you create an ID² product, the product is automatically displayed on the Products page in the IoT Device ID console.
Contact your ID² interface person to complete the ID² authorization configuration of the corresponding product and the device access of ID².
You can query the list of ID² products and the authorization status of ID² products based on the ListCustomerProducts and QueryId2OrderInfo interfaces provided by the ID² API owner.
Result
After the device is verified by using an ID², the device is connected to IoT Platform.
