IoT Platform:Enable or disable device diagnostics features

Last Updated:Dec 19, 2023

This topic describes how to enable or disable the diagnostic metric, intelligent baseline, offline analysis, and diagnostics analysis features of the device diagnostics capability. This topic also describes how to view the status of each feature and the usage of data processing units (CUs).

Prerequisites

An Enterprise Edition instance is purchased. For more information, see Purchase Enterprise Edition instances.

Usage notes

The free trial period of the device diagnostics capability ended at August 30, 2023. By default, the device diagnostics features of Enterprise Edition instances that you purchased are disabled regardless of whether you enabled the features. If you want to use a device diagnostics feature, you must enable the feature. You can disable an enabled device diagnostics feature based on your business requirements.

The device diagnostics capability includes the diagnostic metric, intelligent baseline, offline analysis, and diagnostic analysis features. If you enable one of the features, a specific number of CUs are consumed. For more information about the consumption rules, see Billable items.

Enable a device diagnostics feature

  1. Log on to the IoT Platform console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the Enterprise Edition instance that you want to manage resides. On the Overview tab, find the instance and click the card of the instance.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Maintenance > Device Diagnostics.

  4. On the Device Diagnostics page, click a feature-specific tab.

  5. In the upper part of the tab that appears, click Enable Now.

  6. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

    Important

If the available CUs of your instance are insufficient, a message is displayed prompting you to upgrade the instance specifications. You must increase CUs by following the on-screen instructions. For information about instance specifications, see Purchase an Enterprise Edition instance.

After you upgrade the instance specifications, you must perform the preceding operations to enable the required statistics function.

Disable a device diagnostics feature

You can disable an enabled device diagnostics feature. The change takes effect immediately after you disable a device diagnostics feature. If the feature is disabled, the system no longer deducts the corresponding CUs.

  1. On the Device Diagnostics page, click a feature-specific tab.

  2. In the upper part of the tab that appears, click Disable Now.

  3. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

View the CU usage

Computing units (CUs) are consumed when you use the features of data services. You can view the CU usage of the features on the Instance Details page.

  1. On the Instance Details page, view the CU usage.

    CU用量

  2. Click Usage Details in the Data Service card.

  3. In the CU Usage Details panel, view the following information:

    • The number of devices that are connected to the IoT Platform instance, the CU specifications of the instance, and the CU usage.

    • The status, running tasks, activation date, and CU usage of the Analysis Insight, Data Parsing, Metric Calculation, and Data Backup features in data services.

    Note

If the total CU usage of all features is less than the CU specifications of your instance, a message appears above the feature list to remind you that the CU is insufficient. In the feature list, you are notified that the statistics features are disabled.

    • You can configure an alert rule to monitor the CU usage. This way, you can upgrade CU specifications at the earliest opportunity to ensure the availability of data services.

    • You can click the Upgrade icon next to CU Specification to purchase additional CUs. For more information, see Purchase Enterprise Edition instances.
