You can use the prefix list clone feature to copy a prefix list to different regions. This way, you can quickly batch create identical prefix lists in multiple regions, which improves creation efficiency and ensures configuration consistency. This topic describes how to clone a prefix list in the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) console.
If you use a Resource Access Management (RAM) user, the RAM user is granted permissions on prefix lists. For more information, see Control access to ECS resources by using RAM users.
Procedure
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs.
On the Prefix List page, find the prefix list that you want to clone and click Clone in the Actions column.
In the Clone Prefix List dialog box, configure the parameters described in the following table.
Parameter
Description
Region
Select a region to which you want to clone the prefix list. Example: China (Qingdao).
Name
Enter a name for the new prefix list (prefix list clone).
Description
Enter a description for the new prefix list.
Max Entries
Specify the maximum number of entries in the new prefix list. After you create a prefix list, you cannot change the maximum number of entries in the prefix list.
Valid values: 1 to 200.
NoteThe rule quotas of resources, such as security groups, that are associated with a prefix list are calculated based on the maximum number of entries in the prefix list, instead of the actual number of entries. Set a proper value for the Max Entries parameter.
NoteWhen you clone a prefix list, the Address Family and Entries parameters of the new prefix list remain the same as those of the cloned prefix list and cannot be modified during the clone process. If you want to modify the Entries parameter of the new prefix list, we recommend that you modify the parameter after the clone process is complete. For more information, see Manage the entries in a prefix list.
Click Clone.
After the prefix list is cloned to a region, you can switch to the region to view the new prefix list.
