Data Security Center:Revoke the permissions from an asset

Last Updated:Aug 12, 2024

If your asset is released or no longer requires Data Security Center (DSC), you can revoke the permissions from your asset to free up the authorization quota. This topic describes how to revoke the permissions from an asset or cancel the connection to a database.

Revoke permissions

After you revoke the permissions from an asset, DSC disables the identification, classification, security audit, and de-identification capabilities for the asset. The authorization quota that is consumed by the asset is recovered, the asset is removed from the Authorization Management tab, and the default identification tasks created for the asset are automatically deleted.

  1. Log on to the DSC console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Asset Center > Authorization Management.

  3. On the Authorization Management tab, click Asset Authorization Management.

  4. In the left-side pane of the Asset Authorization Management panel, click the type of asset that you want to manage. In the right-side pane, click Authorized next to Asset synchronization.

  5. Find the asset that you want to manage and click Cancel authorization in the Actions column.

  6. In the System Prompt message, click OK.

Cancel the connection to a database

If your database no longer requires DSC, you can cancel the connection to your database. After the connection is canceled, the default identification tasks that are created for the database are deleted, and the authorization quota that is consumed by the database is not recovered.

  1. Log on to the DSC console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Asset Center > Authorization Management.

  3. In the left-side pane of the Authorization Management tab, click the type of asset that you want to manage.

  4. Find the asset that you want to manage and click the image icon next to the instance ID or name to display the databases that belong to the asset.

If the image icon is not displayed, skip this step.

  5. Find the database that you want to manage and click Cancel Connection in the Actions column.

  6. In the Tips message, click OK.

After you cancel the connection, the connection status of the database changes to Disconnected.
