Prerequisites
A Global Traffic Manager (GTM) instance is created. Access permissions on the related cloud resources are granted. An access policy is configured.
Procedure
Basic settings are the parameters that you must specify for a GTM instance. These settings include Instance Name, CNAME Access Type, Business Domain Name(Internet), Global TTL Period, and Alert Group.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DNS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Global Traffic Manager. On the Global Traffic Manager page, find the desired instance and click Settings in the Actions column.
On the Basic Settings page, click Modify. In the Modify Basic Settings panel, specify the following parameters: Instance Name, CNAME Access Type, Business Domain Name(Internet), Global TTL Period, and Alert Group. Then, click OK.
Instance Name: An instance name is used to identify an application service, for example, Official homepage.
CNAME Access Type: Internet is selected by default.
Business Domain Name(Internet): A service domain name is used to access an application service. Make sure that you specify a valid service domain name.
CNAME(Internet): A CNAME is used to access GTM. On the DNS Settings page, you can add a CNAME record to map a service domain name to a CNAME. For more information, see Features.
Global TTL Period: specifies the period for caching an IP address that corresponds to a domain name on a Domain Name System (DNS) server.
Alert Group: specifies an alert contact group that is used to receive notifications if errors occur. You can select a contact alert group configured in CloudMonitor. For more information, see Create an alert contact or alert contact group.
Notification Methods: You can specify custom alert event types and notification methods based on your business requirements.
