From April 30, 2025 (UTC+8), the zones created by new users of PrivateZone are acceleration zones by default.
By April 30, 2026 (UTC+8), all built-in authoritative zones in regular zones will be switched to acceleration zones. This may lead to increased DNS requests and higher costs. We recommend that you mitigate the throttling of DNS requests initiated by ECS instances to avoid increased DNS requests when local cache is unavailable.
Overview
In Private DNS, the billing of features such as service endpoints, the built-in authoritative module, and the forward module is related to the number of Domain Name System (DNS) requests. To help you quickly query the number of billing-related DNS requests, Private DNS provides the DNS request statistics feature.
Procedure
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DNS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Private DNS (PrivateZone).
In the upper-right corner of the page that appears, click Traffic Analysis Mode, and then click the DNS Requests Count tab.

Click the Inbound Endpoints, Built-in Authoritative Module, and Forward Module tabs to view the trends and statistics of DNS requests.
DNS request statistics
Statistics of DNS requests processed by inbound endpoints
Private DNS counts the numbers of DNS requests that are received by all inbound endpoints within the logon account. You can query the statistics of DNS requests for all inbound endpoints or a specified inbound endpoint within a period of up to 90 days.
Statistics of DNS requests processed by the built-in authoritative module
Private DNS counts the numbers of DNS requests that are received by the built-in authoritative module within the logon account, including the built-in authoritative acceleration zone and the built-in authoritative regular zone.
Trends of DNS requests processed by the built-in authoritative module
You can query the trends of DNS requests within a specified time range by zone or virtual private cloud (VPC).
Details about the DNS requests for a specific zone
You can query the details about the DNS requests for each zone within a specified time range. You can sort the numbers of DNS requests in ascending or descending order. You can also perform keyword-based queries and fuzzy queries.

Analysis of DNS requests for the subdomain names in a specific zone
You can click Details in the Actions column of a specific zone to view the trend of DNS requests for the zone within the specified time range. The details of the DNS requests for each subdomain name in the zone within the specified time range are also displayed at the bottom of the page. You can sort the numbers of DNS requests in ascending or descending order. You can also perform keyword-based queries and fuzzy queries.
Statistics of DNS requests processed by the forward module
Private DNS counts the numbers of DNS requests that are received by all outbound endpoints within the logon account.
Trends of DNS requests processed by the forward module
You can query the trends of DNS requests within a specified time range by zone or VPC.
