    Problem description

    When you use Alibaba Cloud DMS to connect to an RDS Database, an error message "unable to log on to the database due to a whitelist" is displayed.

    Cause

    The IP address ranges of the DMS service are not added to the whitelist of the RDS instance.

    Solution

    If you click set all instances or set this instance in the error message, the setting takes effect in 5 minutes. If you do not take effect after 30 minutes, Add the DMS IP address to the RDS whitelist.For more information, see whitelist.
