The flow control mechanism of each receiving system is different, which has multiple dimensions and is often adjusted. It is difficult to precipitate the capabilities of the sending platform. Therefore, it is necessary for the sender to start sending emails from an appropriate initial value and gradually increase the number of emails sent according to the delivery error, open rate, click rate, unsubscribe rate, etc.
Control Sending Frequency
a. The recommended value is max (1 email/1s, total email quantity/ (8 hours * 3600)).
b. Controlling the sending frequency is to defend the small flow control time window of the receiving system. You can change the value of 8 hours to another value based on the actual delivery.
Avoid sending emails too frequently especially at the beginning to find the appropriate initial value
a. If it is the first time to send emails, it is recommended to start from 2k per day. The number of subsequent daily emails is * 2 until the flow control error is encountered.
b. If there is a record of sending emails before, find an appropriate sending quantity according to the historical sending behavior. This amount of emails will not encounter the flow control error of the receiving system.
Gradually increase the number of emails sent. In the DirectMail Console, observe the delivery status of the previous day. Enable the Data Tracking function to check the click and open status
a. If it is flow-controlled, please maintain the current quantity of emails.
b. If not under flow control, the number of emails sent will increase according to a certain proportion, with a recommended value of 5%. Users can also adjust the growth ratio appropriately, and then change to a small growth ratio after encountering problems.
