Edge Security Acceleration:Cache analytics

Cache analytics helps you investigate which resources are missing in the cache, expired, or not eligible for caching. With this data, you can make adjustments to improve website performance, reduce unnecessary traffic to the origin, and thereby optimize user experience.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ESA console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Websites.

  3. On the Websites page, find the website that you want to manage, and click the website name or View Details in the Actions column.

  4. In the left-side navigation tree, choose Caching > Cache Analytics.

Description

Filters

You can add filter conditions and select a time range to filter the data to display.

  • Supported filter conditions are Host, Country/Region, Path, Query String, HTTP Method, Cache Status, Device Type, Edge Status Code, Content Type, and Served By.

  • Supported time ranges are the last 30 minutes, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 72 hours, 7 days, 14 days, 21 days, and 30 days. You can also specify a custom time range.

Metrics

  • Cache Performance Analytics

    • Traffic: the total amount of traffic from clients.

    • Requests: the total number of client requests.

  • Cache Reserve

    • Data Storage: the storage space occupied by cache reserve POPs.

    • Data Transfer: the response traffic from cache reserve POPs.

Note

The rate displayed for each metric indicates the change rate based on the previous equivalent period. If no data exists in the previous period of time, the change rate is not displayed.

For example, if you select Last 30 Days and observe a 2.03% increase in the number of requests month-on-month, DCDN receives 2.03% more requests in the current month than in the previous month.

Note

All dimensions except All display the top five data records and the sum of the top five data records.

Top data rankings

  • Supported dimensions are Content Type, Path, Host, Device Type, Country/Region, and Edge Status Code.

  • Supported ranking options are Top5, Top10, and Top15.

Data download and report print

  • Print Report: You can print the analytics report in an optimized layout.

  • Download Data: You can download the data as an Excel file to your local PC.
