Edge Security Acceleration:Origin protocols

Last Updated:Sep 19, 2024

An origin protocol is the protocol over which Dynamic Content Delivery Network (DCDN) points of presence (POPs) request resources from the origin server. DCDN allows you to redirect requests to origin servers over HTTP, HTTPS, or the protocol used by the client.

Feature description

After you configure the origin protocol, DCDN POPs request resources based on the specified protocol.

  • Match Client:

    • If the client accesses DCDN POPs over HTTP, the POPs redirect requests to the origin server over HTTP.

    • If the client accesses DCDN POPs over HTTPS, the POPs redirect requests to the origin server over HTTPS.

  • HTTP: DCDN POPs redirect requests to the origin server over HTTP, regardless of the protocol used by the client to access DCDN POPs.

  • HTTPS: DCDN POPs redirect requests to the origin server over HTTPS, regardless of the protocol used by the client to access DCDN POPs.

Note

If you do not configure this parameter, Match Client is used by default.
