DataWorks Data Modeling is billed based on the subscription method. You are charged for Data Modeling based on the number of objects that you create in Data Modeling. When you activate Data Modeling, you can select specifications based on your business requirements.
Limits
Activate Data Modeling
You can activate Data Modeling in all editions of the DataWorks service. For information about DataWorks editions, see Billing of DataWorks editions.
Use API operations related to Data Modeling
If you want to use API operations related to Data Modeling, you must activate DataWorks and the Data Modeling service of DataWorks.
Use Data Modeling after it expires
After your Data Modeling service expires, the models created in the service are retained. If you want to continue to use the models, renew the service.
Billing standards
DataWorks provides different subscription plans for Data Modeling. The maximum number of objects that you can create in your Data Modeling service varies based on the specifications of the subscription plans. The following table lists the supported specifications, the maximum number of objects supported by each type of specifications, and the billing rule for each type of specifications. You can select one of the supported specifications for Data Modeling based on your business requirements on the buy page of DataWorks.
The number of objects refers to the value that is obtained by aggregating the numbers of logical models, derived metrics, and composite metrics created and submitted in Data Modeling by using a specific calculation formula. The logical models do not include the models created at the operational data store (ODS) layer.
Calculation formula:
Number of objects = Number of logical models (including models for dimension tables, models for fact tables, models for aggregate tables, and models for application tables) + Round up (Number of derived metrics/10) + Round up (Number of composite metrics/10)
You are charged only for the logical models, derived metrics, and composite metrics that are created and submitted in Data Modeling. You are not charged for the logical models, derived metrics, and composite metrics that are created but are not submitted in Data Modeling.
The models at the ODS layer are not billed in Data Modeling.
The following table describes the billing standards of Data Modeling.
For the billing standards of Data Modeling at the Alibaba Cloud international site (alibabacloud.com), the prices listed in the following table must be converted into prices in USD based on the real-time exchange rate on the current day. You can view the exchange rate displayed in the DataWorks console when you activate Data Modeling.
