This topic describes how to bind a Data Lake Analytics (DLA) sub-account to a RAM user.
Background information
DLA sub-accounts are used to control the features of the serverless Presto engine, whereas RAM users are used to control the features of the serverless Spark engine. After you bind a RAM user to a DLA sub-account, the serverless Presto and Spark engines of DLA can access databases and tables stored on each other.
Procedure
- If a DLA sub-account is not created, perform the following steps to create a DLA sub-account
and bind the DLA sub-account to a RAM user:
- Log on to the DLA console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Account.
- On the Account page, click Create Child Account.
- In the Create Child Account panel, select a RAM user to which you want to bind the DLA sub-account from the Bind RAM account drop-down list.
- Click OK.
- If you have created a DLA sub-account, perform the following steps to bind the DLA
sub-account to a RAM user:
- Log on to the DLA console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Account.
- On the Account page, find the DLA sub-account to which you want to bind a RAM user, and click Bind RAM account in the Actions column.
- In the dialog box that appears, select a RAM user to which you want to bind the DLA sub-account from the Bind RAM account drop-down list, and click OK.
- If the Bind RAM account drop-down list does not contain the required RAM user, you can create a RAM user. For more information about how to create a RAM user, see Manage RAM users.
- A RAM user can be bound to only one DLA sub-account.
- If a DLA sub-account has been bound to a RAM user, you cannot unbind the DLA sub-account from the RAM user and bind the DLA sub-account again. You must delete the DLA sub-account. Then, create the DLA sub-account again and bind the DLA sub-account to a RAM user.
- The name of the RAM user that corresponds to the root account of DLA is the ID of the current Alibaba Cloud account. The root account is automatically bound to the Alibaba Cloud account when DLA creates the root account.
Usage notes
After a DLA sub-account is bound to a RAM user, you need to wait about 5 minutes before the binding relationship takes effect. If the binding relationship does not take effect, try again several times.
