You can configure a public bandwidth limit for a gateway. This topic describes how to configure a public bandwidth limit for a gateway in the Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) console.
Background information
The public bandwidth is the network bandwidth consumed for access to buckets in different regions over the Internet. A higher public network bandwidth enables faster data transfers. When you create a gateway that connects to a bucket in the same region as the gateway, you do not need to configure a public bandwidth limit. When you create a gateway that connects to a bucket in a different region, you need to configure a proper public network bandwidth to ensure the quality of data transfers.
You can configure a public bandwidth limit only for gateways that are deployed on Alibaba Cloud.
You can configure a public bandwidth when you create a gateway. The default value is 5 Mbit/s.
You can increase public bandwidth of a gateway on the Gateways page.
You are charged the following network traffic fees when you use CSG:
If your gateway bandwidth exceeds the free public bandwidth quota, you are charged for additional bandwidth usage. For more information, see Billable items and billing methods.
You are also charged by OSS for accessing OSS resources. For more information, see Traffic fees.
Prerequisites
An iSCSI gateway is created. For more information, see Create an iSCSI gateway.
Procedure
Log on to the CSG console.
In the upper-left corner, select the region where the gateway resides.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Gateways. On the page that appears, find the gateway and choose in the Actions column.
In the Upgrade Network Bandwidth dialog box, configure the public bandwidth.
NoteThe maximum public bandwidth cannot exceed 200 Mbit/s and the minimum public bandwidth cannot be lower than the specified value. By default, the bandwidth value is 5 Mbit/s.
