Definition

A migration group in CMH refers to a group of resources with specific business attributes. The resources can be an application, a group of applications, or a big data cluster in a real business system.

A migration group is the smallest unit for migration in a cloud migration project.

Migration groups

In the CMH console, you can create a migration group in three ways.

Create a migration group on the Resource List page

If you are familiar with your resources, you can select multiple resources on the Resource List page and click Create a Migration Group to create a migration group.

Create a migration group on the Network Topology page

If you are unfamiliar with the communication among your resources, you can select multiple resources on the Resource List page, and then click Display Topology to view the resources on the Network Topology page. After you confirm the resource information, click Select All and then Create a Migration Group to create a migration group.

Create a migration group on the Migration Groups page

On the Migration Groups page, you can click Import by tag, select a tag in the list, and then click Generate Migration Group to create a migration group with all resources that contain the tag you selected.

Delete a migration group

If you want to adjust a migration group, you can delete the migration group on the Migration Groups page. The resources of this migration group are not affected after you delete the migration group. You can add these resources to another migration group.
