Create a migration solution

1. You can access the product interface by clicking on Assessment -> Migration Solution in the menu, then click on 'New Migration Solution' and fill out the form..

   

2. Select a research method

   • Select Cloud Vendor: By default, only AWS is supported .

   • AK/SK: By authorizing a CMH account with read-only permissions on the AWS environment, you can automatically complete bill analysis and cloud product mapping to obtain cost analysis and comparison of using Alibaba Cloud.

     After selecting the AK/SK research method, fill in the corresponding information of the form and submit it.

     

     Note

     For AWS AK/SK research, you need to enable the read permissions on AWS Cost Explorer services and cloud resources in advance, and make sure that the provided account has the following permissions:

     arn:aws:iam::aws:policy/AWSBillingReadOnlyAccess
     arn:aws:iam::aws:policy/Billing
     arn:aws:iam::aws:rds/DescribeDbInstances
     arn:aws:iam::aws:policy/ReadOnlyAccess

     You need to use the AWS SDK(GetCostAndUsageRequest/Response) to access your billing interface, which may incur related fees caused by interface read calls. At the same time, you need to authorize the read-only permissions of AWS products to access the product configuration information to recommend the appropriate product specifications on Alibaba Cloud.

     For more information about the resource types supported for AWS resource survey in online mode and API reference, see Fields collected from AWS. If you need a policy that covers the permissions on fewer resources, you can create a custom policy based on the ReadOnlyAccess policy of AWS.

     CMH does not record or store your sensitive information (such as AK/SK). The key information you enter will only be used in the current task.

   • Task Research: generates a report based on the TCO and resource research tasks that are completed.

     Select one or more TCO tasks and resource research tasks, and click OK.

   

   After the task is submitted, you can view the submitted task in the running state on the TCO Analyse page. After the task is complete, you can perform subsequent detailed analysis.

   

Solution Download

Once the solution is successfully generated, click Download.

Stay on this page for a few seconds and wait for the solution to be generated.

After a successful download, open the word document and choose Yes for the option from trusted source

• (MacOS).

  

  In the Update Table of Contents option, select Update the entire document directory.

  

• Windows

  Click 'Enable Editing' on the top of screen, then click Yes.

  

  In the Update Table of Contents option, select Update the entire document directory.

  

You will receive a migration plan based on your AWS resources, including migration cost analysis, source resource analysis, and migration plan.
