After you authorize Cloud Config to access your resources, you can view the resources that reside in different regions and manage the resources in the Cloud Config console.
Scenarios
If you deploy resources in multiple regions on Alibaba Cloud, managing the resources across the regions is inconvenient. Cloud Config displays your resources that reside in different regions in a list so that you can search for the specified resource with high efficiency and view the configurations and configuration change history of the resource. Cloud Config continuously tracks and records the configuration changes to the resource. By default, Cloud Config retains the configuration change history of the resource for 10 years.
Limits
Only some resources are displayed in the resource list because Cloud Config supports only some Alibaba Cloud services and resource types. For more information about the Alibaba Cloud services and resource types that are supported by Cloud Config, see Alibaba Cloud services and resource types supported by Cloud Config.
Note Cloud Config will support more Alibaba Cloud services and display more resources in the resource list.
Operations
The following table describes the operations that you can perform on resources by using the features of Cloud Config.

| Query a resource | If you deploy resources in multiple regions on Alibaba Cloud, the specified resource is difficult to search for with high efficiency. Cloud Config displays your resources that reside in different regions in a list so that you can centrally manage your resources. You can enter a resource ID or set filter conditions to search for the specified resource. |
| View the information about a resource | After you enter a resource ID or set filter conditions to search the resource list for the specified resource, you can view the basic information, core configurations, and latest compliance evaluation results of the resource. |
| View the configuration timeline of a resource | Cloud Config records each configuration change and relationship change of a resource that Cloud Config monitors, and displays the changes over time in a configuration timeline. By default, Cloud Config retains the configuration change history of the resources for 10 years. |
| View the compliance timeline of a resource | Cloud Config generates a compliance evaluation record for a resource each time the resource is evaluated by a rule, and displays the compliance evaluation records over time in a compliance timeline. |
| View the resources that are associated with a resource | If a resource has associated resources, you can view all resources that are associated with the resource and detailed changes in resource relationships. |
| Download the resource list | After you obtain the list of resources that reside in different regions, you can view the resources in the resource list in the Cloud Config console or download the resource list to your on-premises machine to allocate resources and view the information about a resource on your on-premises machine. |
