Last Updated:Sep 14, 2024

QR code management allows you to generate QR codes and short links for all the phone numbers that are bound with a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). Users can scan the QR codes or click the short links to open the corresponding chat windows. This topic describes how to create and manage QR codes and short links for phone numbers.

Prerequisites

Filter phone numbers to display

  1. Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Channel management.

  3. On the Channel management page, click a channel ID or click Management in the Operation column that corresponds to the desired channel.

  4. On the channel management page, click QR code management in the left-side navigation pane.

  5. On the page that appears, select a phone number of your enterprise from the drop-down list.

    Note

QR codes and short links are bound with phone numbers of enterprises. The QR code and short link generated for a phone number can be displayed only after you select the phone number.

Add a QR code and a short link

  1. On the QR code management page, click Add.

  2. Specify the parameters in the dialog box that appears.

    • Business number: Select the phone number for which you want to generate a QR code and a short link.

    • Prefill message: Enter a pre-filled message.

    • QR code format: Select PNG or SVG.

      Note
      • QR codes and short links can be generated only for phone numbers that have been verified. For information about how to verify phone numbers, see Manage phone numbers.

      • After a user scans the QR code or clicks the short link of a phone number to open a chat window, the pre-filled message automatically appears in the text field of the chat.

  3. Click OK.

    • If you want to modify the generated record, click Edit in the Operation column. You can modify the pre-filled message and the QR code format. Then, click OK.

    • If you want to delete the generated record, click Delete in the Operation column. In the confirmation message, click OK.

      Note

If you delete a QR code, no chat window can be displayed after a user scans the QR code. Exercise caution when you perform this operation.
