You can manage phone numbers within WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABAs), including adding phone numbers, synchronizing phone numbers, and setting phone numbers. This topic describes how to manage phone numbers.
Prerequisites
Alibaba Cloud account registration and enterprise authentication.
A WhatsApp channel is created. For more information, see Create a WhatsApp channel.
WABA onboarding is complete and the WABA is approved by WhatsApp. For more information about WABA onboarding, see WABA onboarding.
Add a phone number
Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Channel management.
On the Channel management page, click a channel ID or click Management in the Operation column that corresponds to the desired channel.
On the Channel management page, click the name of a channel that you want to manage. On the page that appears, click Number management in the left-side navigation pane.
On the number management page, click Add number.
In the Add number dialog box, set the Number type, Name, Country/region, and Number parameters, and then click OK.
NoteThe added phone number is displayed in the phone number list and is in the Not verified state. The phone number must pass verification before you can use it.
Verify a phone number
You need to receive a verification code provided by Meta when you verify the phone number. Make sure that your phone number is available for receiving messages.
On the number management page, find the phone number that you want to verify and click Verification number.
In the Get verification code dialog box, select a language for notification messages and click Get SMS verification code or Get voice verification code.
NoteIf you use a landline number, click Get voice verification code. If you use a mobile phone number, click Get SMS verification code or Get voice verification code.
Enter the verification code you received.
After the phone number passes verification, its verification status is changed to Verified. In this case, you can use this phone number to send messages.
If the verification fails, try again as prompted.
Unregister a phone number
After you unregister a phone number, you will no longer be able to use this phone number to send messages. If you need to use the phone number to send messages again, you need to re-verify the phone number.
Set a phone number
You can set or update the information about a phone number that has passed verification.
Basic information settings
In the phone number list, find the phone number that you want to set and click Setting in the More settings column.
In the More settings dialog box, click the Basic information settings tab.
Set the basic information as prompted, including Avatar, Industry, Description, E-mail, and Website.
Click OK.
Workbench settings
Keyword trigger: specifies whether to use keywords to trigger the message workbench. If you turn on the Keyword trigger switch, you need to set trigger keywords in the Keyword text box.
Keyword: Enter one or more trigger keywords and separate them with commas (,).
After a phone number of an enterprise goes online in the message workbench, the message sent by a user with the keywords will be displayed in the message workbench, and then online communication can be carried out between the enterprise and the user. This is keyword trigger.
Commerce settings
Shopping cart: If you turn on the Shopping cart switch, a shopping cart icon and the icons for adding items to the shopping cart are displayed on the WhatsApp catalog page.
Category: If you turn on the Category switch, a catalog icon is displayed on the WhatsApp business information page. You can click the catalog icon to access the product catalog you bound. For more information about how to bind a product catalog, see Catalog management.
Other settings
Limit send: After you turn on the Limit send switch, the phone number will no longer send messages to users who clicked the Stop promotions button in marketing templates. The Limit send switch is turned off by default. You can turn it on based on your business requirements.
You can query the list of users who clicked the Stop promotions button in marketing templates. You can block these users when you send messages. For more information, see Unsubscription query.
Synchronize phone numbers
You can synchronize approved phone numbers within the WABA from the WhatsApp business management platform.
On the number management page, click Synchronize number.
