Chat App Message Service:Migrate WABA phone numbers

Feature introduction

Phone number migration enables you to transfer phone numbers registered with another Business Service Provider (BSP) to Alibaba Cloud. A migrated phone number retains its display name, quality rating, messaging limits, Official Business Account (OBA) status, and all previously approved high-quality message templates.

Before you begin

• Register an Alibaba Cloud account and complete enterprise identity verification.

• Create a WhatsApp channel.

• Register a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and bind the verified account to a channel.

Procedure

1. Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.

2. In the left navigation pane, choose Channel Management.

   Note

   If you are a service provider, Channel Management appears as Customer Management in the navigation pane.

3. On the Channel Management page, click the Channel ID or Manage for a WhatsApp channel.

4. In the left navigation tree, choose WABA Management, and then click WABA Registration and Binding.

   1. Log on to your Facebook account. Do not create a new account.

   2. After logging on, click Get Started.

   3. In the step for creating or selecting Meta and WhatsApp Business Accounts, select the Meta Business Account associated with the phone number you want to migrate, and then click Continue.

   4. Create a new WABA account, and then click Continue.

   5. Complete the WABA account registration process, then close the Embedded Signup page.

      Important

      Skip Step 2 of the registration process.

   6. Go to Meta Business Manager to check that your business is verified, your WABA account is approved, and that a payment method is configured.

5. On the WABA Management page, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the remaining steps.

   Note

6. After the migration is complete, if you have OBA status or previously enabled two-factor authentication, go to Meta Business Manager to re-enable these features. This secures your account and maintains your OBA status.
