Chat App Message Service:Manage global variables

Global variables are referenced for creating a message template. You can consider global variables as parameter variables. Global variables can reduce your workload by preventing you from repeatedly configuring parameters. You can add, modify, and delete global variables. This topic describes how to manage global variables.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Channel management.

  3. On the Channel management page, click a channel ID or click Management in the Operation column that corresponds to the desired channel.

  4. Click Global variable management in the left-side navigation pane.

Add a global variable

  1. On the page that appears, click Add variable.

  2. In the Add variable dialog box, set the following parameters as prompted: Variable code, Variable name, Variable type, and Example value.

  3. Click OK.

    Note

    After you add the global variable, you can use it when you add or modify a message template for the current channel.

Modify a global variable

  1. Find the desired variable and click Edit in the Operation column.

  2. In the Edit variable dialog box, modify the variable content.

  3. Click OK.

Delete a global variable

  1. Find the desired variable and click Delete in the Operation column.

  2. In the message that appears, click OK.

Search for a global variable

  1. Click the search box.

  2. Enter the name of the variable that you want to search for.

  3. Click the Search icon.
