Bastionhost:Step 2: Import RAM users

Last Updated:Jun 17, 2024

After assets are imported to the bastion host, the administrator must add users to the bastion host. You can create local users, import Resource Access Management (RAM) users, and import Active Directory (AD)-authenticated, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)-authenticated, or Identity as a Service (IDaaS)-authenticated users. This topic describes how to import RAM users to a bastion host as an administrator.

Prerequisites

RAM users are created. For information about how to create a RAM user, see Create a RAM user.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which your bastion host resides.

  2. In the bastion host list, find the bastion host that you want to manage and click Manage.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Users > Users.

  4. On the Users page, click Import RAM Users.

  5. On the Import RAM Users page, select the RAM users that you want to import to the bastion host and click Import below the list.

To import a single RAM user, click Import in the Actions column of the RAM user. In the message that appears, click Import.

What to do next

After users are added to the bastion host, the administrator must authorize the users to manage ECS instances and the accounts of the instances. This way, the users can log on to the bastion host to perform O&M operations on the assets. For more information, see Step 3: Authorize a user to manage assets and asset accounts.
