The Alibaba Cloud website speed measurement platform supports dial testing for scenarios such as PING, TCP, DNS, website speed measurement, HTTP port, and file download, and supports stress testing for HTTP ports. You can also use the Alibaba Cloud website speed measurement platform to initiate a comparative dial test to understand the performance differences between the two websites.
Initiate a website speed measurement task
The following example demonstrates how to use the Alibaba Cloud website speed measurement platform to measure the speed of a website by simulating China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom operators visiting the official website of Alibaba Cloud in 34 provincial capitals.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud website speed measurement platform.
Select a dial type. Select Website Speed.
Click the drop-down list below the dial type and select a monitoring point. In this example, select China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom. Select 34 provincial capitals.
On the right of the drop-down list, enter the address of the web application that you want to dial. For example:
www.aliyun.com.Click Initiate Now.
In the Dial Test Results section, you can view metrics such as the availability, first package time, first screen time, and full loading time of the website, as well as the detailed data list of each monitoring point.
Click Details next to a monitoring point in the Detailed Data list to view the detailed performance metrics and page elements of the monitoring point.
Initiate a comparison dial test
You can also use the Alibaba Cloud website speed measurement platform to initiate a comparative dial test to understand the performance differences between the two websites.
The following example demonstrates how to use the Alibaba Cloud website speed measurement platform to compare the performance of two websites by simulating the access of China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom to Alibaba Cloud and other cloud vendors in 34 provincial capitals.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud website speed measurement platform.
Select a dial type. Select Website Speed.
Click the drop-down list below the dial type and select a monitoring point. In this example, select China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom. Select 34 provincial capitals.
Click Compare Dialing and enter the URL of the web application for which you want to compare dialing. Examples:
www.aliyun.comandwww.XXcloud.com.Click Initiate Now.
In the Dial Test Results section, you can view the availability, first package time, first screen time, and full loading time of the two websites, as well as the detailed data list of each monitoring point.
In the Details section, click Details in the Actions column corresponding to a monitoring point to view the detailed performance metrics and page elements of the monitoring point.
