ApsaraMQ for MQTT:Overdue payments

Last Updated:Mar 02, 2026

This topic describes how the status of ApsaraMQ for MQTT resources changes when your Alibaba Cloud account has overdue payments or when your instance expires. To prevent adverse business impacts, renew your instance or settle overdue payments promptly.

Overdue payments for subscription instances

This section describes how resource status changes after a subscription instance expires.

  • You can continue using the instance normally for 15 days after it expires. After 15 days, Alibaba Cloud stops the ApsaraMQ for MQTT service. The instance and its resource data are temporarily retained.

  • If you do not renew your subscription within 15 days after the service is suspended, your ApsaraMQ for MQTT instance is released. After the instance is released, the instance and all related data, such as topics and group IDs, are deleted. This data cannot be recovered.

Overdue payments for pay-as-you-go instances

Important

Pay-as-you-go ApsaraMQ for MQTT instances are no longer available for sale. Existing pay-as-you-go instances can still be used. The following overdue payment descriptions apply only to existing pay-as-you-go instances.

The billing cycle for pay-as-you-go ApsaraMQ for MQTT instances is 24 hours. On the next day, Alibaba Cloud measures your usage from the previous day, issues a bill, and deducts the service fee from your Alibaba Cloud account balance. Bills are typically issued within 8 to 10 hours after the current billing cycle ends.

When your account balance is insufficient to cover the bill amount, the ApsaraMQ for MQTT service is affected as follows:

  • You can continue using ApsaraMQ for MQTT normally for 24 hours after the payment becomes overdue. After 24 hours, Alibaba Cloud stops the ApsaraMQ for MQTT service. The instance and its resource data are temporarily retained.

  • If you do not settle the overdue payment within 7 days after service suspension, your ApsaraMQ for MQTT instance will be released. After release, the instance and all related data—including topics and Group IDs—will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
