    This topic describes the billable items of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK, and how to purchase a license for ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK.

    Overview

    The billable items of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK include the following:

    • SDK licenses: Before using a module of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK, such as Short Video SDK, you must obtain a license for the module. You are charged for the license based on the subscription billing method.

    • Alibaba Cloud service resources: You are charged for the consumed Alibaba Cloud service resources based on the billing rules of the Alibaba Cloud services that you use. For example, if you use specific features of ApsaraVideo Live when using ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK, you are charged for the features based on the actual resource usage. ApsaraVideo Live supports the pay-as-you-go and subscription billing methods.

    Billing of SDK licenses

    Before using a module of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK, you must obtain a license for the module. The price of the license varies with the edition of the module and the features supported by it. Some modules require you to obtain a license specific to the platform on which the modules run. Choose the modules and their editions that best fit your needs.

    Log on to the ApsaraVideo Live or ApsaraVideo VOD console to apply for a trial license. The license is valid for 30 days, and can be used to access ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK for testing. After it expires, you must purchase an official license.

    Purchase an ApsaraVideo Live resource plan or VOD resource plan and receive a one-year complimentary license.

    Log on to the corresponding console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose SDK Management > My Licenses. On the My Licenses page, create an application and bind the license to it.

    Advanced adaptive bitrate streaming (ABR)

    Use ApsaraVideo Live and the features of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK such as live stream ingest, co-streaming, instant messaging (IM), and playback to ingest live streams to the cloud for processing and delivery. This allows interactions across live channels.
