API Gateway supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) for dedicated instances. After you enable inbound and outbound IPv6 access for a dedicated instance, API Gateway assigns the instance an IPv6 address to receive requests and another IPv6 address to forward requests.

A dedicated instance is purchased.
Overview
API Gateway supports IPv6-based inbound and outbound access for dedicated instances, as shown in the following figure.
Inbound IPv6 access: After you enable inbound IPv6 traffic, the system assigns an IPv6 address to the instance to receive requests from IPv6 clients.
Outbound IPv6 access: After you enable outbound IPv6 traffic, the system assigns an IPv6 address to the instance to forward received requests to a backend service.
Procedure
Log on to the API Gateway console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances and select the region where your dedicated instance resides.
Find your instance. Then, click Enable next to Inbound IPv6 Traffic and Outbound IPv6 Traffic.
After IPv6 is enabled for the instance, go to the API Groups page and click the API group for which you want to enable IPv6. On the details page, find the public second-level domain name and click Bind IPv6 Address.
Usage notes
API Gateway allows you to configure an IPv6 blacklist or whitelist for your dedicated instance. For more information, see Configure instance-level access control.
Plug-ins of the IP Access Control type do not support IPv6 addresses.
