Object Storage Service (OSS) zone-redundant storage (ZRS) delivers 99.9999999999% (12 nines) data durability. In multi-zone regions, OSS distributes redundant data copies across different zones within the same region. This cross-zone architecture ensures continuous data access during zone failures and provides data center-level disaster recovery capabilities.
Usage notes
For more information about the regions that support zone-redundant storage, data durability, and service availability, see Storage redundancy.
Zone-redundant storage incurs higher costs compared to locally redundant storage (LRS). For detailed pricing information, see OSS Pricing.
Once zone-redundant storage is enabled for a bucket, it cannot be disabled.
Procedure
Use the OSS console
Log on to the OSS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Buckets, then click Create Bucket.
In the Create Bucket panel, set Redundancy Type to Zone-Redundant Storage (Recommended), then configure the remaining parameters as needed.
For more information about the parameters, see Create a bucket.
Use OSS SDKs
The following code examples demonstrate how to create a zone-redundant storage bucket using popular software development kits (SDKs). For additional SDK examples, see SDK overview.

Use ossutil
For how to create a zone-redundant storage bucket using ossutil, see put-bucket.
Use the RESTful API
For highly customized application requirements, send RESTful API requests directly. Direct RESTful API calls require manual signature calculation. For more information, see PutBucket.
