Precautions
When you change the specifications of your instance, one or two transient connections of about 30 seconds may occur. This causes a failure to perform most operations related to databases, accounts, or networks. We recommend that you change the specifications of your instance during off-peak hours or make sure that your application is configured to automatically reconnect to your instance.
After you change the specifications of a primary instance, the read-only instances attached to the primary instance are automatically restarted.
