Applicable scenarios of the pay-by-peak-bandwidth or pay-by-data-transfer metering method
Metering methods Description Scenario
Bandwidth You are charged based on the daily peak bandwidth. A peak bandwidth value is calculated every 5 minutes. A total of 288 values are collected every day. The maximum bandwidth value is used as the daily peak bandwidth value. The DCDN data transfer curve is relatively flat, and the daily bandwidth usage exceeds 30%.
Traffic You are charged based on the actual data transfer per hour. Large fluctuations and bandwidth spikes exist in the DCDN data transfer curve. The daily bandwidth usage is less than 30%.

Note: The bandwidth usage is calculated based on the following formula: Bandwidth usage = Data usage (GB)/[Peak bandwidth (Mbit/s) × 10.54]. If the bandwidth is 1 Mbit/s and the daily bandwidth usage is 100%, the data usage is 10.54 GB.

Pay-by-requests description

You are charged for the following two parts when you use DCDN: network traffic or bandwidth and the number of requests.

The following two metering methods are available for network traffic or bandwidth: pay-by-data-transfer or pay-by-daily-peak-bandwidth.

If you are billed based on the number of requests, the charges are based on the number of requests for dynamic content. If HTTPS acceleration is enabled, you are also charged for HTTPS requests.

Billable item Price (USD per 10,000 requests)
HTTPS requests for static content 0.008
HTTPS requests for dynamic content 0.024
HTTP requests for dynamic content 0.024

QUIC requests for dynamic content 0.024
Billing rules

• Billing method: pay-as-you-go

• Billing cycle: billed on an hourly basis. Fees are deducted in real time.

Description

• A bill is issued at the end of the current billing cycle. The billing cycle is counted based on the calendar day. In most cases, a bill is issued within 1 hour after the current billing cycle ends. The time when bills are issued is determined by the system. The amount due is then automatically deducted from your account balance.

Billing rules

Pay-by-data-transfer (default): You are charged for outbound data transfer on DCDN POPs based on tiered pricing on a monthly basis.

Pay-by-peak-bandwidth: You are charged based on daily peak bandwidth values. A bandwidth value is calculated every 5 minutes. A total of 288 values are collected every day. The maximum bandwidth value is used as the daily peak bandwidth value.

Countries and regions outside the Chinese mainland

Asia Pacific 1 consists of Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), Japan, and Southeast Asian countries and regions except Vietnam and Indonesia.

Asia Pacific 2 consists of India, Indonesia, South Korea, and Vietnam.

Asia Pacific 3 consists of Australia and New Zealand.

Billing of DDoS mitigation

When you enable DDoS mitigation, you are charged for Anti-DDoS instances that you purchase. The price varies with the instance edition. After you enable DDoS mitigation and add a domain name, you are charged for all outbound traffic generated for domain names with DDoS mitigation enabled based on the unit price of scrubbed traffic. The following table describes the fees for instances of different specifications and scrubbed traffic.

Note:
Insurance Unlimited
Price USD 1,600/month USD 8,900/month
Specifications Best-effort protection (Tbit/s) Best-effort protection (Tbit/s)
Mitigation sessions Two. You are charged USD 1,900 for each attack that exceeds the predefined limit. Unlimited
Domain names 10 domain names. You can add additional domain names at the price of USD 50 for every 10 domain names per month. 10 domain names. You can add additional domain names at the price of USD 50 for every 10 domain names per month.
Scrubbed traffic USD 0.01/GB USD 0.01/GB

a. Scrubbed traffic: You are charged for all outbound traffic generated for domain names with DDoS mitigation enabled based on the unit price of scrubbed traffic.
b. Protection scope: global.
c. Domain names: All 10 domain names are subdomains in the format of a.b.com and must belong to the same top-level domain b.com. You can add a top-level domain such as c.com for every additional 10 domain names.
d. Limits: DDoS mitigation can be enabled for only customers whose clean bandwidth is 10 Gbit/s and whose peak QPS is below 100,000. If your clean bandwidth exceeds 10 Gbit/s, submit a ticket.

Billing of WAF protection

In the new version of WAF, the number of requests for domain names that are protected by WAF and the number of configured rules are converted into SeCUs for billing. The price of 1 SeCU is USD 0.008. The following sections describe the conversion between the number of rules or the number of requests and the number of SeCUs.

1. Number of rules:
Rule Rule-based fee (SeCU/hour) (billing by day)
Basic web protection rules Free of charge
Whitelist Free of charge
Custom rules (basic rule entries) 1 SeCU per rule
Custom rules (advanced rule entries) 2 SeCUs per rule
IP address blacklist 2 SeCUs per rule
Region blocking 2 SeCUs per rule
Scan protection 2 SeCUs per rule
Bot management 50 SeCUs per rule

Billing cycle: billed on a daily basis. Fees are deducted in real time.

2. Number of requests:

a. Every 5,000 requests are equivalent to 1 SeCU. SeCUs generated by requests for the entire account are counted every 1 hour. You are charged for 1 SeCU if the number of SeCUs is less than 1.
b. Billing cycle: billed on an hourly basis. Fees are deducted in real time.
