Features released: ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL allows you to reduce the storage capacity of an RDS instance that uses ESSDs based on your business requirements. This allows you to release the storage that is no longer required and flexibly manage the storage usage of the RDS instance to reduce costs. Before you reduce the storage capacity of an RDS instance, you must estimate the growth of the data volume and reserve sufficient storage. This ensures that the disk space during the storage capacity reduction is less than the new storage capacity.
